Primary comes to an end
It seems like just yesterday I was taking her for her first day of preschool and now we are coming to the end. In 2 months my little baby will be starting kindergarten. I can’t believe it. Today was Mission Montessori’s spring program and Kinder graduation, the theme was the Beatles and her songs were Can’t Buy me Love and Twist and Shout. We have practiced for the past month for the main event.
This morning little Maddie had 2 requests, 1) that she dressed cute and 2) we curled her hair. Easy enough.
In all the excitement we were ready ahead of schedule and since the coffee machine hasn’t arrived yet we headed out for Starbucks. Always an adventure…our barista loves Maddie and she held up the line talking about her school program. We also ran into a few of our neighbors, always fun, so we chatted and then headed off.
Shortly after getting in the car Maddie got concerned. “Mommy we are doing our performance in the big church, you can’t take your coffee in, so drink up”. As we pulled into the parking lot it was packed….almost completely full. Here I thought I would be clever and get there early for a good seat by showing up at 8:15 when the program started at 9am. Fooled me. Anyhow Maddie went off to class and I grabbed a seat.
The performance was delightful…I video’d it for all our friends/family across the country which got me a little direction from Maddie at the end of her 2nd song since I needed to be clapping. Classic.
I am so proud of my little one. She has learned so much in her short few months at Mission. From figuring out the tricky teens, counting on the chains, to learning all her sounds, building the foundation for reading, and on and on. I will always remember how proud she was when she had squeezed lemons and drank the juice all by herself. She was fast to make lots of new friends and just is all smiles.
