Dancing in the street
My girl loves to dance and we found a little treasure last night at Downtown Disney.
We had stopped there to go to the pin traders and have some dinner. After finding some other cool stores (including an amazing candy store!– make your own caramel candy dipped apples anyone?) we were on our way to have a roast beef sandwich when we started hearing music.
The sprinklers had been turned off, the speakers setup and the fun was beginning. It started with a hula hoop contest– something we need to work on. Then a fun little scavenger hunt. The kids had to bring back napkins, a baby in a stroller, out-of-state driver’s license (from your parents only), sunglasses, left flip-flops, and a man wearing lipstick. Maddie’s group won that contest and she was just having so much fun.
Then they announced it was dance party time. First they did some line dancing. I got some video and then joined in with Maddie. I believe this might be the only line dancing I have done that didn’t involve a wedding or some drinks :). We had a blast and learned the cuban shuffle. Then the competition began. Maddie found a friend, from Germany, who she chose as her partner and they were a perfect match. They did the robot, grease lightening, disco, and quite a few others. Unfortunately after about 10 min the rain started to come in, but by then we had been at it for an hour so we were both good to go.
It was a perfect evening to end our perfect girl getaway. I will definitely remember this little gem of a night spot next year.
