The Carrie Diaries The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
So it took me 2 days to finish this book, a quick read. Absolutely perfect for reading by the pool.

If you loved Sex in the City you will enjoy this book. It’s Carrie’s life as a teenager. You can hear the voice of Carrie and see how she shaped into being the writer who landed in NYC.

Candace Bushnell writing is fun..she develops the characters and just gets it right when dealing with “life’s situations”. I am sure everyone can relate to at least one of the story lines from their high school memories.

Look forward to her next book…as I always enjoy them. Plus when I am reading them it usually means I am sitting outside somewhere with my feet up- a double win!

And just to think somewhere Candace has a piece of Salt Cay jewelry sitting in her dresser or maybe possibly she is wearing it. She happened into Salt Cay last year and my lovely mom didn’t even realize who it was even after she swiped her credit card. Though I probably would have been the same…authors, the great unknown celebrities! And it is worth mentioning, she was living Carrie’s life that week- on vacation with a group of girlfriends in the Caribbean!
